The Rhein-Main Chapter of the Cornell Club of Germany is joining the world-wide "International Spirit of Zinck' Night" celebration with an event at "Zum Bitburger" in Frankfurt from 7.00pm onward. Volkmar Hellmich is inviting all interested Cornellians and friends of Cornell University to join. The restaurant is centrally located in Frankfurt just next to the Alte Oper and Zeil. The brand new Stuttgart Chapter of the Cornell Club of Germany is organizing am "International Spirit of Zinck' Night" event in Downtown Stuttgart. The get-together will convene at 7:30 pm at the Amadeus, Charlottenplatz 17, 70173 Stuttgart. All Cornellians and their guests are very welcome for this inaugural Stuttgart club event. Please already mark your calendars for the 2014 Zinck's Night on the third Thursday in October -- just as every year! Klaus Conrad (M.S.'60) and Deloyce Conrad (B.S.'59) of the Munich Chapter usually reserve a table in some of the areas at the Ratskeller right at Marienplatz in the center of Munich for anytime after 6;30pm. Marienplatz can easily be reached by S- or U-Bahn public transportation.

Deloyce and Klaus are usually inviting all intested Cornellians to join fellow alumni, spouses and friends around the world for the annual celebration of the

International Spirit of Zinck’s Night

Dr. Martin Heckelmann of the Berlin Chapter is extending the invitation of the Wharton/U of Pennsylvania Club to interested Cornellians for attending an evenint about "Corporate Diplomacy" and a conversation with Prof. Witold Henisz of the Wharthon School, UPenn, at 7:00 pm at the CafeManstein4, Mansteinstrasse 4, 10783 Berlin-Schöneberg.

The Harvard Club of Munich is extending invitations for the "2nd Ivy League Summer Drinks" event to the members of the Munich Ivy League University Chapters.

This annual “get-together” of Ivy League Alumni of the East Coast in Munich is taking place at Schuman's Bar, (Odeonsplatz 6+7, 80549 München, www.schumanns.de) any time after 7:00 p.m.

Klaus and Deloyce Conrad have again announced plans, as during the last many years, for the "Summer Quarterly" of the Munich Chapter.

This annual Cornell beer garden “get-together” in Munich is again taking place in the Hirschgarten, (www.hirschgarten.de) any time after 6:30 p.m. Directions and parking are also given in the English version on the Hirschgarten website.  It gives the S-Bahn directions as well – it is important that the correct stop is “Laim” and not the “Hirschgarten” stop! In case of bad weather Deloyce and Klaus may reserve a table either under an awning, or indoors.  The reservation is always done under the name “Cornell-Conrad.”

Dr. Martin Heckelmann of the Berlin Chapter is extending the invitation of the Wharton/U of Pennsylvania Club to interested Cornellians for attending the upcoming Get Together at 7:00 pm at the Bötzow Brauerei, Prenzlauerallee 242, 10405 Berlin. 

The event was scheduled short-term as the availability of this great venue was up in the air for some time. Reservations are first-come, first-served. Kindly respond  to Yair Reem who is keeping tabs.

You must be super prompt for this event. After dissapearing into the maze of the brewery the doors will be locked behind the participants.

The 23nd annual Cornell Weekend of the Cornell Club of Germany is now well prepared and all interested Cornellians are invited and asked to participate. If you have not made reservations and applied for participation, please make sure that you do very soon.

This year's annual Cornell weekend will resume in the west of Germany, in the city of Wuerzburg, Germany, right at the Main river in northern Bavaria. Preparations have been completed and the program, the agenda for the annual meeting, the registration form and of course the official invitation have been published. You may also register with the new CornellConnect event registration.

Friday, May 30th, 2014
After arrivals of the participants in the afternoon, the Weekend will start off on Friday evening at 19:00 with official welcome and opening of the annual event at the "Alte Mainmuehle", Mainkai 1, 97070 Wuerzburg.
At this place a festive welcome dinner is waiting.

During the dinner a presentation will be given b about "Wuerzburg, its Past and Presence".

Saturday, May 31st, 2014
The annual membership meeting will take place at 8:30 on Saturday morning at the hotel. Please find here the agenda of the meeting

At about 10:30 the cultural progam will start. The will be a tour through the historical central quarters of Würzburg before going for a small lucheon at the Buergerspital. This will be followed by a visit to the wonderful Wuerzburg Residenz, which is on the list of UNESCO's World Cultural Herigage. After the palace visit head for a boat ride on the Main river to Veitshoechheim. On board of the ship we will also take coffee and cake. The afternoon program will close after returning to Wuerzburg by bus. Please take the details from the program.

The final highlight of the day will be at the Buergerspital Weinstuben. At 19:00 the festive dinner will start with an Apero and during the course of the evening there will be a dinner speech.

Sunday, June 1st, 2014
At 9:30 am we will start our traditional "Big Red Brunch" at the hotel. There we will discuss any open issues left from the annual meeting. The official end of the weekend will be around 11:00 am.

You may end your stay in Cologne with visits to the Kulturspeicher, the Castle Marienberg of the "Käppele" Church.

Thanks to the growing number of international participants Klaus and Deloyce Conrad  are very pleased to announce a very special cultural event for Cornellians and friends of Cornell in the Munich area:

The international spirit of Cornell is reflected more-and-more by the large number of Asian Cornellians.  Currently active in the Cornell Munich sub-chapter are two students of Chinese background, Lanqing and Jeffrey Jian, who comes from Canada. They have prepared -- or, are preparing -- a get-together at a Chinese Restaurant on February 14th to celebrate the annual Chinese Lantern Festival.  Please see Lanqing's colorful invitation (attached) which includes directions as to reaching the "Chi Wan Restaurant" (also via by public transportation near the U-Bahn Station "Neuperlach-Sued").
