The brand new Stuttgart
Chapter of the Cornell Club of Germany is
organizing at Zinck’s Night
event in Downtown Stuttgart for October 16,
2014. This notice will be updated as details become
available. All Cornellians and their guests are very
welcome for this inaugural Stuttgart club event.

Please already mark your calendars for the 2014 Zinck's Night on the third Thursday in October -- just as every year! Klaus Conrad (M.S.'60) and Deloyce Conrad (B.S.'59) of the Munich Chapter usually reserve a table in some of the areas at the Ratskeller right at Marienplatz in the center of Munich for anytime after 6;30pm. Marienplatz can easily be reached by S- or U-Bahn public transportation. Deloyce and Klaus are usually inviting all intested Cornellians to join fellow alumni, spouses and friends around the world for the annual celebration of the International Spirit of Zinck’s Night In addition to this posting Deloyce may also try to reach all Cornellians and Friends in the greater Munich area by e-mail. Please do help her out if you can to have a complete and accurate (e-)mailing list of Cornell alumni in the greater Munich area. Klaus and Deloyce Conrad may again as during the last many years announce plans for the "Summer Quarterly" of the Munich Chapter. This annual Cornell beer garden “get-together” in Munich has regularely taken place in the Hirschgarten, (www.hirschgarten.de) any time after 6:30 p.m. Directions and parking are also given in the English version on the Hirschgarten website. It gives the S-Bahn directions as well – it is important that the correct stop is “Laim” and not the “Hirschgarten” stop! In case of bad weather Deloyce and Klaus may reserve a table either under an awning, or indoors. The reservation is always done under the name “Cornell-Conrad.” If you plan to agein take part in this get together of need additional information please contact the Conrads under (08152) 79674 or mail to Deloyce. |

The 23nd annual Cornell Weekend of the
Cornell Club of Germany is now well prepared and all
interested Cornellians are invited and asked to
participate. If you have not made reservations and
applied for participation, please make sure that you do
very soon.
This year's annual Cornell weekend will resume in the west of Germany, in the city of Wuerzburg, Germany, right at the Main river in northern Bavaria. Preparations have been completed and the program, the agenda for the annual meeting, the registration form and of course the official invitation have been published. You may also register with the new CornellConnect event registration. The Wuerzburg meeting will convene at the "Maritim Hotel ", Pleichertorstraße 5, 97070 Würzburg, Tel. +49 (0) 931/3053-0 , Fax +49 (0) 931/ 3053 - 900, reservation: +49 (0) 931/3053-832 and eMail Favourable rates have been negotiated: Single Occupancy: € 99,00; Double: € 134,00 When making your booking , please indicate that such booking be made under the "Cornell Weekend 2014" arrangement. The application form with the fees for the annual get together you find here. Friday, May 30th, 2014 During the dinner a presentation will be given b about "Wuerzburg, its Past and Presence". Saturday, May 31st, 2014 At about 10:30 the cultural progam will start. The will be a tour through the historical central quarters of Würzburg before going for a small lucheon at the Buergerspital. This will be followed by a visit to the wonderful Wuerzburg Residenz, which is on the list of UNESCO's World Cultural Herigage. After the palace visit head for a boat ride on the Main river to Veitshoechheim. On board of the ship we will also take coffee and cake. The afternoon program will close after returning to Wuerzburg by bus. Please take the details from the program. The final highlight of the day will be at the Buergerspital Weinstuben. At 19:00 the festive dinner will start with an Apero and during the course of the evening there will be a dinner speech. Sunday, June 1st, 2014 You may
end your stay in Cologne with visits to the
Kulturspeicher, the Castle Marienberg of the "Käppele"

Thanks to the growing number of international
participants Klaus
and Deloyce
Conrad are very pleased to announce a very
special cultural event for Cornellians and friends of
Cornell in the Munich area:
The international spirit of Cornell is reflected more-and-more by the large number of Asian Cornellians. Currently active in the Cornell Munich sub-chapter are two students of Chinese background, Lanqing and Jeffrey Jian, who comes from Canada. They have prepared -- or, are preparing -- a get-together at a Chinese Restaurant on February 14th to celebrate the annual Chinese Lantern Festival. Please see Lanqing's colorful invitation (attached) which includes directions as to reaching the "Chi Wan Restaurant" (also via by public transportation near the U-Bahn Station "Neuperlach-Sued").
